Shifter Island

In the beginning, there were just humans. They were satisfied with their lives. All was well. The humans lived together in mostly harmony. But as all things, it didn't stay that way forever. Change can never be stopped.

One day scientists got curious though. They wondered what would happen if they were injected with animal dna. So they injected a few unknowing patients with it. For a while nothing happened, but then, the patients would rapidly change. The patients lost all their memory as a side effect. Some completely turned into a animal with no way back. But some became shifters.

They called themsleves shifters because they would transform, or shift, into a certain animal at times. In fear of discrimination, all the shifters fled and lived on their own.

Till shifter island formed. Cut off from the rest of the world, shifters could live their and be free. Most of the shifters moved their, and eventually they formed their own goverement and cultures. Once again, all was peaceful. But change struck again. Humans begans moving to the island, amazed at its beautiful nature and simplistic lifestyle. The shifters now had to learn to hide their powers from the humans, and life got a lot harder. Then more change.

The chinchillas shifters came.

Some shifters who were not brought to the island had to rough it out on the mainland. After a while they came together and formed a mish-mash group to protect each other. But they were very new and unorganized. They were not succesful so they were unable to find any time to train there power. They began killing each other in rage for how being a shifter has ruined their lives. Only the chinchillas survived. They refuse to tell why they survived and not the others. But when they heard of the island, a safe place where they could live in peace, they quickly went there.

There were many of them and most were very undertrained with their power and shifting. they couldn't control when they transformed or themselves when they did. They would often transform and go on berserk rages throughout town, hurting many. The chinchilla shifters were very meek, timid, and caring creatures. They are absolutly horrified by their acts. But they can't help it. Its tecnicly not their fault. They dont mean it.
The people of the tribe were allready unsure about letting the new people in their society they have sustained for so long. Can they be trusted? The attacks make the tribes more untrusting.

Ideas on how to treat and deal with the chinchilla shifters are disputed on Tensions rose and the groups started to fight. Should they accept the newcomers? Should they kill them? Drive them out? Train them? Trust them? Arguments spread through the town.

Now some are worried that they will kill each other. The fighting won't cease. Will heroes rise? Will the groups survive?
