History of The Gifted. {Taught in the schools.}

The first gifted was discovered in 1945 when a set of twins were born with the ability to communicate telepathically. They later found out that the twins were also consumers. Other Gifted started to appear around the twins and they began to consume abilities. The eldest of the twins was killed at the age of 7 the youngest was diagnosed with Osteogenesis imperfecta also known as Brittle Bone Disease. She was then visited by a Healer* and then consumed the ability to regenerate thus curing the disease. She later married and gave birth to three sons. All of which were also consumers. The second eldest of the children was institutionalized after failing The Test. He later became widely known.* {See Known Convicts.} The Ministry came into effect when these powers later started to appear in known talent in Hollywood. Actors and Actresses began to show abilities and Hollywood and the Ministry joined forces to keep the secret. Scientists researched the genetic markers and found that anyone with an artistic ability had another ability that was before thought to not exist.

Arlin the Arson* {Alias}: was born to the first known Consumer Margo Quinto. His birthname, {Only known to his next of Kin and the Government} was Sylar Zachary Quinto. His twin brother Zachary Sylar Quinto, {Later renamed Zachary John Quinto} Later went on to become a famous actor. He too was a consumer but never failed the tests. Joe Quinto continued to work as a photographer. They both worked in Hollywood until they were later forced to go into hiding to avoid suspicion. They changed their appearances and became known by other names. Arlin the Arson was later released to Zachary after being deemed Rehabilitated and has not killed since. During his time as a serial Killer Sylar developed what was later known by The Gifted as the Sylar complex. Tim Kring wrote the show Heroes based upon this incident merely changing a few key details. Arlin the Arson would set fire to his decapitated victims and examine their brains to find their powers. He didn't realize that he could get them without doing this. Since he had only targeted Gifted he was more known among the Gifted and used as an example.

John Heart {Alias}: John Heart was a man with the ability to see into another's hearts. If he didn't like what he saw there, he would kill said person and tear out their heart and consume it. He was captured after escaping from Loch Ness and going on a killing spree throughout Scotland. John was born Silvester David Kinsley to Psych Howard Mitchell Levinth. As a child Silvester was treated poorly and when he discovered his ability killed his father in revenge and ran away at the age of 7. Shortly afterwards he was found and thrown into Lochness until he escaped at the age of 18. He killed uncaught for the next 6 months taking out 27 people in that short time span.

Linda Cruel {Alias}: Linda Cruel was born Lydia Margret Jones. She was a chameleon and the hardest of the serial killers to be found. She was labeled as a Changeling and used her ability to elude capture for 10 years. When she was finally caught she was sent to Hendricks. During her 10 year reign as Linda Cruel she took pleasure in capturing anyone she didn't like and torturing them until they died or begged for death. She would then consume their flesh and turn into them making it harder for anyone to find out that the victim had in fact been killed. She was born in New York New York to Lisa and Howard Jones. The oldest of 3 siblings and was physically abused by her father.

Teddy Bear {Alias}: Teddy Bear was born Joseph Theodore Barns. He had the ability to control other people, tele-puppeteering, and used that to make bank tellers give him all the money that he wanted. He was born to a retired actor that had gone bankrupt. Growing up dirt poor Joseph wanted nothing more then to have the money to live life comfortably. He was born before the tests came into play and was discovered later on by the government after robbing 45 banks in a 20 year span before anyone realized just what was going on with the funds in the banks themselves. At first attributing to the sudden cash differences to 'computer errors.' as he told them to do.

E. Nigma {Alias}: E Nigma was born Emanual Estavon Garcia. He was a Chameleon with the power of invisibility. He would go invisible enter a bank and empty it when nobody was looking. All he had to do was follow a bank official into the vault and he'd then proceed to help himself as they worked. He was finally captured once Thermal cameras were installed into one particular bank owned by a Government official who was a familiar. His father Jose Garcia had been an actor in Ecuador but never got the funds to get to Hollywood to pursue his career. He is now deceased.
